Believing God Free Essays

My folks thought me Christian qualities and Christian morals and they sent me to a Catholic school during my adolescence that’s why I grew up accepting that there is actually a God. There are consistently impediments in life that makes each other inquiry if there is a God out there. I had individual encounters that there is God’s nearness. We will compose a custom paper test on Trusting God or on the other hand any comparative theme just for you Request Now One inquiry, for what reason do we supplicate? To whom do we ask? I think this is the most ideal approach to see the nearness of God. We implore in light of the fact that we have faith in God. The Muslims, Buddhist, Christians, and so on may have various Gods yet they accept that there is a God. God’s nearness for me is the point at which I implore. Consistently, before I hit the hay, I generally petition God for the security and strength of my loved ones. At the point when I wake up and realized everyone is alright, I likewise appeal to express gratitude toward Him for noting my petition. Each morning, I as of now feel His quality inside me. Likewise, when I’m feeling tragic and discouraged, I generally ask His direction and help to determine my issues. Favored, He addressed my supplications and the vast majority of my issues were settled. I think we as a whole have various kinds of relationship with God. Another model about the nearness of God is about what my grandmother(who lived with us for 16yrs) revealed to me when she was debilitated and determined to have stage 4 ancer. She disclosed to me that consistently, every time she rests, she generally dream of his better half, dead family members, or some of the time an obscure man calling her. Once, she disclosed to me that she envisioned that she was in the sky and an obscure man is calling her to go with her. She told that He was God. Possibly she didn’t go with Him ordinarily in light of the fact that she realized that we are not yet prepared to release her with her Creator. For how long have passed and we revealed to her that we are prepared to acknowledge whatever occurs, she Joined with her Creator. With her story, I truly felt the nearness of God and my confidence in Him became more grounded. Another impact is from my folks. We praise a great deal of Christian occasions. For instance, the Holy Week. Our family do Visita Inglesia during Holy Weeks and we do the Stations of the Cross to find out about the account of God’s child, Jesus. I think this impact additionally helped me to truly have confidence in There are likewise times that I feel the nonappearance of God. MotEffects of Employees’ Motivation on Organizational Performance Essay

Unique Numerous hypotheses went along to show the significance of inspiration. Sparks are the things that drive the representatives to accomplish; de-helpers are the inverse and would prompt crumbling at work level. Execution is legitimately influenced by inspiration, therefore, an exhibition evaluation ought to be done where the chief estimates the presentation of a representative and acts in like manner. Inspiration is the way to accomplishment in some random errand or occupation. If not met, disappointment will most presumably be the outcome. The reason for this paper is to talk about the demotivators, the inspirations of representatives at work and the impact of these elements on employees’ execution accordingly authoritative execution and the positive relationship between's both last ideas. Presentation Abraham Maslow once stated, â€Å"If I were dropped out of a plane into the sea and told the closest land was a thousand miles away, I’d still swim. Furthermore, I’d scorn the person who gave up.† The drive for him to arrive at the land is a mix of capacity, eagerness, and inspiration. In like manner in any association, there is constantly a drive for workers to accomplish. The core of this drive prompts positive hierarchical presentation and along these lines achievement is inspiration; it is this longing to accomplish. Spurring representatives is the point at which the business gets them to â€Å"want† to do what he/she knows ought to be finished. It is additionally the third key exhibition marker of Human Resources. The primary resources of an association are the representatives; on the off chance that not fulfilled and propelled, at that point progress and achievement are near unimaginable. In this manner, it is a conductive cooperative energy; if disa ppointment happens workers would dock, hesitate, damage the organization, increment truancy, or even request. Inspiration could be of two sorts: outward and inborn. Extraneous inspiration depends on the craving for outside remunerations, for example, picking up endorsement of others, procuring cash, winning prizes†¦ and so forth. Generally outward inspiration will in general be all the more usually required among individuals who have low or poor self-assurance or the individuals who need inside objectives. The internalâ goals or the inward want to accomplish something or addition information in something is the thing that characteristic inspiration depends on. Individuals who are driven by inborn inspiration are the individuals who comprehend what their objectives are and are lined up with what they esteem most. Peruse more: Which Factors Affect the Motivation of Employees Working Because of the exceptionally serious time that we live in, supervisors need to consider conduct the executives hypotheses to increment employees’ maintenance and increment authoritative adequacy. After the traditional school of the executives came the conduct school to stand up on the name of employees’ fulfillment and expressed that they are driven by inspiration and one couldn't in any way, shape or form give them the activity and request that they yield great execution. As per Hawthorne’s hypothesis, an examination was led on employees’ execution in diminish and splendid light. Results were the equivalent on the grounds that in the two cases they were given acknowledgment and consideration. As indicated by McGregor, an administrator ought to follow his â€Å"Theory Y† which expresses that individuals are acceptable commonly and that they are goal-oriented and self-inspired. A hypothesis Y chief accepts that individuals will accomplish well grindi ng away in the event that they were given the correct conditions. They are the chiefs that normally make the atmosphere of trust that will prompt the improvement of the human asset perspective in an association. Following that came Maslow’s pecking order of necessities that partitioned the human needs into five classifications: physiological, security, social, confidence, and self-completion. The initial three are the lower level needs and the last two are the more significant level needs. Physiological necessities are first and the most significant; they are the essential prerequisites for the endurance and capacity of people and are met by having a sterile situation at work. Wellbeing needs are those concerning the security of the business, assets, body, family†¦ and so on. These necessities are fulfilled by having a fixed agreement at work. People continually need to feel a feeling of having a place and acknowledgment among their social gatherings. In this way Maslow proposed the third degree of requirements: the social needs. The confidence needs as the name proposes, it is the requirement for certainty, accomplishment, and regard by and to other people. Self-completion which is the most extreme level is met in the wake of acing every earlier need in a steady progression. It is depicted as Maslow portrays this level as the longing to achieve everything that one c an, to turn into the most that one can be. Another hypothesis is the hope hypothesis which statesâ that inspiration is an element of anticipation, instrumentality, and worth. The representative should realize that the activity or the errand isn't a â€Å"mission impossible†; additionally, he/she ought to likewise realize that there is a way to accomplishing it and if so will be granted in a significant manner. After the chiefs apply those social speculations into the working environment, the association will in general become increasingly gainful. Execution in this manner should be estimated in a procedure called execution evaluation. It is one of the intermittent HR’s obligations in which the worker is inspected and assessed, unbiasedly and valuably. In view of the outcomes, which the worker should know by giving him/her criticism, key zones of progress or acclaim are revealed insight into. In this manner, the chief will realize who to advance, downgrade, train or even fire. There are three significant strides in the presentation evaluation process: distinguishing proof, estimation, and the board. With distinguishing proof, the practices essential for fruitful execution are resolved. Estimation includes picking the fitting instrument for evaluation and surveying execution. The board, which is a definitive objective, is the strengthening of good execution and the remedy of terrible showing. What are the sparks and de-inspirations? How would they influence execution and how they are estimated? The appropriate responses will be additionally talked about in the writing audit. Demotivators at Work What does truly spur workers? How might we support employee’s confidence? What would we be able to do to expand the presentation and the efficiency of our representatives? How might we know whether the manner in which our workers are doing things is correct and doing the correct things? †¦.. And the rundown continues. We could truly go through a day simply discussing the worries of associations with regards to making sure about its coherence in this ever-developing serious condition. The way to progress is unquestionably in the manner we run our representatives in such a way to help their assurance and keep them inspired to exceed expectations in their employments for it has as significant positive effect on expanding efficiency. At the point when we talk inspiration, we need first to adjust whatâ demotivates the representatives. Demotivators are those pestering, every day events that disappoint workers and cause them to diminish, either deliberately or unknowingly, the measure of gainful vitality they use in their employments. Demotivators are emptying the life from workers all over the place, sabotaging assurance and squandering the most significant asset we have †human ability and inventiveness. Demotivators can be a solitary factor or a gathering of components that influence that employee’s assurance and cause him to fail to meet expectations. Not exclusively do demotivators trigger negative feelings, however they likewise inspire negative practices â€, for example, retaining exertion, non-appearance, lateness, expanded breaks, scrutinizing the board, burglary, struggle, and even brutality, vandalism and damage. To begin with, we will consider â€Å"Micromanagement† as a demotivator: Employees have various necessities, various desires, and various aspirations. Following Maslowâ€℠¢s pecking order of necessities, the physiological, wellbeing and belongingness are the most significant needs that must be tied down first to any worker. Simply after his essential needs are met, will he center around understanding his confidence and his self completion, consequently he will go the additional mile to perform successfully so as to accomplish now his developing requirements for accomplishment and for power. Micromanagement restricts the employee’s inspiration and his potential development, and furthermore influences his assurance inevitably. He will feel that he‘s not getting acknowledgment and space to develop expertly. A few supervisors apply the hypothesis X sort of the executives, being despotic, never confiding in their workers, nor assigning them: hands on, focal and formal administration are a few models. Any representative under these conditions won't sense a sentiment of having a place with the association, nor will he feel mindful to work successfully or to improve his presentation. Toward the day's end, he doesn’t see any possibility to develop out of his present position, or that his endeavors will be acknowledged as the credit would go to his administrators. â€Å"Hazy Job Profiles† is another demotivator that is extremely visit in numerous associations: Absence of an unmistakable set of working responsibilities, nonattendance of a practical reachable objective, nonappearance of a reasonable objective, nonattendance of execution examination and a customary assessment telling a worker wher e he stands and what zones he needs to improve, are largely exemplary reasons that characterize the cloudy and indistinct activity profile that contrarily influences the employee’s conduct. A worker has to comprehend what is normal from him, what his obligations are, what regions he is responsible for, hisâ reporting authority and who reports to him. All these are significant for him to know how he will be judged and on what premise he will be assessed and evaluated. Despite the fact that a few associations don't invest enough energy in setting the activity profile, it is a basic part to be decidedly ready by the HRM to give the worker the kick he needs to assess and progress in his profession. â€Å"Unclear expectations† speak to another demotivator that must be contemplated.

Fall Travel Recap; New Bloggers Announced

Fall Travel Recap; New Bloggers Announced Howdy folks, Im back! It feels like forever since I last posted, although its only been a couple of weeks. Lots to tell you about. Fall Travel About an hour after I launched the new site (talk about cutting it close), I left for the first leg of my fall recruitment travel. As to not completely bore you with the details of my trip I will compose them in haiku. Drove down Saturday, hung out with my family at Moms house in Philly On Sunday I held the Philly central meeting in Fort Washington On Monday morning I went to Philly schools, then drove to Delaware Went to one school there. Wilmington central meeting took place Monday night. Back in Philly on Tuesday for more school visits. Then Northern Jersey. School visit Tuesday afternoon in Hackensack. They gave me cake. Heart. Big meeting Tues night; afterwards, sent rude texts to Nance from hotel bar. Wednesday school visits on Staten Island and then in East Brunswick, then Chilis (love Chilis!) and then later, the meeting for Central Jersey. Drove to Baltimore on Thursday, but that was fun, not work (more family) Then back to Moms house on Thursday night, where I got some sleep finally On friday I drove back to Massachusetts and slept until Sunday. The end. P.S. XPN in Philly and Jack in NY/NJ both ROCK MY SOCKS. Ive lived here so long that Ive forgotten what its like to be in love with a radio station. Not that radio in Boston is particularly awful, but I could swear at times that XPN and Jack were reading my mind. I want radio like that. Except Keri just got a radio show, so there may be hope for this city after all. The New Bloggers First: I am so, so sorry that it took us so long to finalize decisions. This is the first year in which the program was big enough that it required an official application/selection process, and clearly we were not prepared for the overlap of our recruitment travel season with the blogger selection window. With most of the committee members out of the office (out of the state, for that matter), we realized quickly how difficult it would be to come to a consensus via sporadic emails and text messages. Weve learned a lot of lessons which well implement next year. But to those of you who have been so patient this year, thanks for bearing with us. And again, big apologies for the delay. We received many, many blog applications, and all of them were fantastic. You are all incredibly talented; one of the joys of the blogger selection process is that it reinforces the work we do in that other admissions process. Quite simply, your blogs and the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm therein confirm the great decisions we made in admitting you to MIT. We have hired three bloggers at this juncture. A fourth will likely be added in the future, pending some logistical issues. If I havent contacted you personally, we were unfortunately not able to offer you a blogging spot for this admissions cycle. Without further delay, the new admissions bloggers are Jess Kim 10, Keri Garel 10, and Lulu Liu 09. Youve already met Jess; Keri and Lulu will be making their introductions soon. Thanks again for your patience throughout this long process, and for applying to be bloggers. NACAC Matt and I are off to NACAC tomorrow, where weve been asked to present the MIT admissions blogging program for a second year in a row. This year well be joined by admissions officers from two other schools, a sign that this thing just keeps growing and growing, spreading from one campus to the next. The success of these blogs is all about you. From all of us who work on these projects, on behalf of both MIT and our peer institutions thank you for helping us to make this community what it is. See you when I get back from Pittsburgh!

The Dalai Lama and Dolly the Lamb - Free Essay Example

The Dalai Lama and Dolly the lamb, what could these two possibly have in common? The Dalai Lama being the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and Dolly, a lamb. The answer is nothing except a confused middle schooler in science class. I first heard about Dolly the lamb and confused it with the Dalai Lama. I believed the Dalai Lama to be a person that was being cloned over and over to allow for the same spiritual leader into perpetuity. The reality is that Dolly the lamb was the first mammal generated using reproductive cloning (Singh-Cundy.) What exactly does cloning mean and where does it show up in everyday life? According to Michael Rugnetta, a writer for Brittanica.com, cloning is a process used to create an identical genetic copy of a cell or an organism. It occurs regularly within prokaryotic organisms like bacteria that use binary fission to replicate. Do eukaryotic organisms use cloning as well? Yes, they do, the skin cells of the body are created through mitosis which creates two identical daughter cells. However, the human body also has sexual reproductive organs that use meiosis and create gametes that help increase diversity within the population (Singh-Cundy.) Reproductive cloning requires three steps. The first necessitates an egg is taken from a donor and the nucleus is removed. Second, an electrical current is used to fuse the egg and with a somatic cell and chemicals are added to trick the cells into forming an embryo. Finally, the embryo is implanted into a surrogate mother and fingers crossed, a baby animal is born (Singh-Cundy.) This specific type of cloning used to make Do lly is something we hear about every so often in the news, this family paid an exorbitant amount of money to clone their beloved family dog. Barbra Streisand paid for her dog, Sammie to be cloned and the process created five puppies, three of which she kept (Streisand.) A gentleman from Louisiana paid more than $100,000 to a foundation in Korea to have his dog cloned and he is not alone. The organization in Korea is not the only one of its kind, in Texas, another company called ViaGen has established a cloning animal operation. The company originally cloned horses and livestock but, they have switched gears to land in the cloning of house pets (Landman.) Cloning is used to create loved pets, does it appear anywhere else? It has appeared in livestock such as sheep, horses, and pigs. Livestock cloning was were this reproductive cloning started but, where has it gone? Are people drinking milk produced from cows that are clones, are people eating steaks from a cloned a cow? If we are consuming these goods, are we endangering ourselves? The FDA states that eating cloned animals poses no additional risks to the consumer. Due to that determination no labels need to be placed on food that may be made from cloned animals. However, cloned animals are mainly used to reproduce the best breeding stock and then those animals are allowed to breed. The offspring of the cloned animals are then the ones to be consumed (USDA.) In a contradicting article written by the Center for Food Safety, it states that the cloned animals struggle with reproducing healthy offspring and often become lame. The propensity for these problems would lead to a higher amount of antibiotics and hormones given to the animals. An additional article also calls into question the study size used by the FDA to say cloned food is safe. The article claims one of the studys only had six animals that had their milk and meat analyzed. If the FDA had originally based all their claims on this study, done by the University of Connecticut, it would hold no value, as six animals is too small a group size to draw any claims on (Scientific American.) The FDA states that since the use of that study from 2008, hundreds of cloned animals have been observed. The act of cloning seems to play an increasing part in our day to day life. The question of whether we are eating cloned food, isnt able to be distinctly answered. We may be but, until the government decides to pass legislation to make it necessary to tell the public, we wont know.

This movement consisted mostly of British-educated intellectuals, and ironically was made possible by the British encouragement of higher education, originally intended to create a middle management that could carry out simple administration jobs. Most of the Indian nationalists - most notably Gandhi - were educated in Western Europe and were well-read in Western notions of freedoms, civil liberties and autonomy. African Americans in the Civil War Free Essays

Roman Robinson Kristen Anderson HIST 3060 February 25, 13 African Americans and the Civil War The role African Americans played in the outcome, and the road to the outcome of the Civil War was immense. The fact that the south had slaves and the north did not played an enormous role in the issues. The north wanted to abolish slavery, and the south did not and after the war started this became one of the main reasons for the Civil War. We will write a custom essay sample on African Americans in the Civil War or any similar topic only for you Order Now Since most African Americans could not read or write, this made them an easy target, for slavery, against the dominant white man. Once the slaves got to America they started to realize how much trouble they were actually in. The north and the south had a problem brewing, and that was due to the slave uprisings and the run a ways. African Americans played an enormous role in the outcome of the Civil War because of the part they took in it. The civil war, which took place from 1861 to the 1920s, the African American community made tremendous strides toward them becoming apart of America and equals in America. Since they had been controlled by the power of the whites for so long, their independence was extremely unfamiliar to them, with their new emancipation. Since they were so uncertain, they debated about the most effect way to go about actually receiving the rights they deserved. They did not just want to be inferior Negros. Some African Americans thought the actual approach would be to go along with the submissive status the whites held them to, so they could earn their respect until fairness pervaded. Others were more wishful with their thinking and thought the military would make whites surrender and give blacks their basic rights. Those who were still they are thought that no progress would ever come. These blacks decided that it was essential to escape the shackles and cruel attitudes toward blacks. The civil war initially began to save the Union. At the start of the war slave masters were terribly scared that the slaves would run to join the Union and help the war efforts. To subsidize the problem, most owner enforced harsh restrictions on their slaves. Some owners even moved their whole plantations inland to avoid any contact with the outside northerners. This did not stop the slaves one bit though, this just caused more slave to flee to the north. The slaves that did decide to stay just demanded more freedom from their masters. Some would say the ones that stayed even gained more power; this forced their masters to give them offerings in exchange for work. The issues of emancipation and military service were intertwined from almost the beginning of the war. News from Fort Sumter made African Americans rush to enlist in military units. They were all turned away since there was a law dating from 1792 that kept African Americans from joining the U. S. army. In Boston disappointed African Americans met and passed a resolution that requested the Government to modify its laws to permit them to enlist. Then Lincoln’s Second Confiscation Act was passed. The act stated that, Confederates who did not surrender with in sixty days of the acts passage were to be punished by having their slaves freed. The Militia Act was also passed. This act stated African Americans were allowed to fight in the war. These two acts together thoroughly punished rebel slaveholders. The African Americans that enlisted both fought in the front lines and worked behind the scenes labor jobs. All these rights that the African Americans were receiving inspired them to return home and free their families and friends. Some of them even started living in the plantations that they used to be slaves of. They took them over and began their own cropping. Some of the other plantations had been left to older disabled white woman, when the men had left for the Confederate army. All of this led to the separation of slave labor in the south After trying terribly hard to keep the issue of slavery out of the war, the North decided to start enlisting African Americans to help them fight in the war. The Fifty-Fourth regiment was created by the Union Army, and was the only all black unit. This Union in particular contributed to the war efforts of the North and showed a new found power among blacks. The regiment started when John Andrew sent a request to the secretary of war, Edwin Stanton, to create a volunteer regiment of African Americans (3). African Americans from all over the country joined. To help recruit even further they called for help from African American leaders like, Frederick Douglas and William Wells Brown. In just two months over one thousand African Americans, one from at least every state, had enlisted in the regiment. The leader of the regiment would not be black though, they wanted the superior officer to have some certain credentials. The job description posted read: â€Å"Young Man of Military Experience Of firm antislavery principles, ambitious, Superior to the vulgar contempt of color Having Faith in the capacity of colored men for military purpose† (2) The man picked for the job was Robert Shaw. The African American regiment and their captain set off for Beaufort, South Carolina on May 28, 1863 (1). They were to attack Fort Wagner, which was a vital key to Charleston. They only way to storm the fort was to go through loads and loads of Confederates. The sheer size of the Confederates to the Fifty- Fourth regiment was an obstacle in itself. The regiment knew the amount of obstacles they would have to overcome to achieve a victory and yet they kept marching. Shaw and a few men marched to the top of the parapet, and there Shaw was shot and killed. Though this was almost a complete disaster for the regiment they had set a path for future African American soldiers. Frederick Douglas said, â€Å"Once let the black man get upon his person the brass letter, U. S. , let him get an eagle on his button, and a musket on his shoulder and bullets in his pocket, there is no power on earth that can deny that he has earned the right to citizenship. One thousand seventy-nine African Americans had served in the Civil War. They served in both the U. S. Army and about two thousand served in the Navy. By the time the war was over, forty thousand had died in battle and thirty thousand had died of disease and infection. African American soldiers performed all the jobs needed to run an army. They also served as carpenters, chaplains, cooks, g uards, laborers, nurses, scouts, spies, steamboat pilots, surgeons, and teamsters (4). There were nearly 80 black commissioned officers (4). Harriet Tubman was the most famous spy; she served for the 2nd South Carolina Volunteers. Tubman decided to help the Union Army because she wanted freedom for all of the people who were forced into slavery, not just the few she could help by herself. And she convinced many other brave African Americans to join her as spies, even at the risk of being hanged if they were caught (4). Among Harriet Tubman were many other African American women who served as nurses, spies and scouts. Although, no women were allowed to formally join the army. When black troops were captured by the confederate soldiers, they faced harsher punishments than the white troops. In 1863 the Confederate Congress threatened to punish officers of African American troops and enslave the African Americans, if they were captured. As a result of this, President Lincoln issued General Order 233, which threatened payback on Confederate prisoners of war, if they mistreated African American troops. This order did scare the Confederates a little, but African American soldiers were still treated harsher than whites. In one of the worst examples of this abuse, Confederate soldiers shot to death black Union soldiers, captures at Fort Pillow, TN, in 1864(). Confederate General Nathan B. Forrest witnessed it all and did nothing to stop it. The President, Abraham Lincoln, issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. This proclamation eventually led to the freedom of all slaves. The document officially made free all bondsmen in the areas of the Confederacy that were still in rebellion. Slavery although was not abolished in the Border States, Tennessee, or the Union occupied areas of Louisiana and Virginia. The proclamation only affected the states in rebellion, so after the efforts it didn’t actually free any slaves. On the other hand, it did strengthen the Northern war efforts, because they knew they were fighting for a cause. Over five hundred thousand slaves had escaped to the North by the end of the civil war. Many of the escapees joined the Union Army, which tremendously increased its power. As a result of the Emancipation Proclamation, the thirteenth Amendment was created. The Amendment created on December 18, 1865, legally freed all slaves still in bondage. The final step the Emancipation Proclamation was to depress England and France from arriving to the war on the side of the South. England and France wanted to enter the war on the South side, because the South had supplied them both with cotton and tobacco. England and Frances stance changed when they heard that the war had changed to a fight over slavery. Both nations were opposed to slavery, so ended up giving their support to the Union. That led to the winning of the fight for freedom. Juneteenth was the day created to celebrate the emancipation, when the slaves heard about it that midsummer. The holiday is still celebrated today. Abraham Lincoln said, â€Å"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved. I do not expect the house to fall, but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other. â€Å"(3) African Americans along with the rest of the Union were fighting for this freedom and equality that Abraham Lincoln, was talking about. African American contributions were not limited to the role of working the fields in the south or supplying labor for industry in the north. Many African Americans in both south and north participated in either direct or supporting roles in the military. The War Between the States proved to be a war fought for democracy. The liberation that the slaves had been waiting for, recovered the ideas that founded the United States of America. All men were equal under the law. Since, the African Americans made such a persistent effort the changes were made more quickly. Africans pushed for their own emancipation by resisting their masters and other labor tasks. Although a formal Emancipation Proclamation and Thirteenth Amendment freed blacks in America, it would be a long time before they received all the rights they deserved. The minds of Americans had been so engrained with racism only decades of hard work would lessen this. Making Important Life Decisions Essay Example For Students

Making Important Life Decisions Essay Should I study or should I go out and do something? That was an easy question for Richard Rodriguez to answer. He was a high school kid who always chose to study over doing anything else. No one understood Rodriguez and his way of living life. Not even his own family. They would say things to him like What do you even see in your books  (598). That became the family joke Rodriguez said. They always wondered where he was and sometimes he was locked in his bedroom or a closet reading a book or studying. Rodriguez was the kid in school who always answered the questions and had the right answers, but didnt know why he knew them. He always questioned the way he thinks and the way the teachers think. Teachers were his role models. He tried to imitate how they thought and the way they acted and the way they thought he should act. Rodriguez teachers always said that his parents must be proud of their son. He wished that was the case. Rodriguez was known throughout his school as the scholarship boy and he believe that he had to live up to that name. Even though Rodriguez was the opposite of me I can relate to his story in a different, but very similar manner. I was born in Rochester, Minnesota. After a few months my family and I moved to St. Louis. When I was one we moved back to Eyota. Then in second grade we moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin. When my family moved to La Crosse I stayed back and lived with my grandmother for five months until I finished school. We lived in Lacrosse, for three years and in seventh grade we moved back to Eyota were I would live the rest of my school life. I have six members in my immediate family. My mother Brandy, father Noah, and my three younger brothers Joe, Gabe, and Trevor. My mother Brandy is a secretary at the carpenters union in Rochester and my father Noah is self-employed. My dad owns his own business where he builds and sells computer servers. My dad likes to read Stephen King books and my mother likes love stories like every other woman on this planet. My grandmother Wanda has had a big impact on my life as well and she reads a lot of different types of books and papers. My first experience with reading and writing was when I was very young my mom told me she used to read me bedtime stories of different sports and Dr. Seuss. The first book I read back in first grade was the Berenstain Bears. I read that book over and over again. All of these books that I have read with my mom are interactive books. I believe that because these books are interactive they have shaped me into always wanting to read action pact book. Around the time I was in third grade I read a series of chapter books called Geronimo. This was a book about a mouse and all the adventures he went on. This series of books did change me as a reader though. These books started challenging me and made me want to read different more challenging books. I have never been a big reader so there was a long period from seventh grade too about tenth grade that I dont remember reading a book. I believe the biggest reason that I didnt read a book during this time was, I just moved to a new town and that time period was when I realized that I needed to practice a lot to achieve my dream. In tenth grade I read a true novel from Elle Wiesel called Night. It was a book about his personal experience in the concentration camps. The book Night was the best book I have ever read. Since it was a book we read in English class every day we talked about the book. Since I enjoyed it so much I would stay after and ask the teachers questions which made me and that teacher closer. Alfred Tennyson was born on August 6th, 1809, at S EssayThe books have also made me a better writer by reading professional writings. One of my biggest weaknesses throughout school was the ability to comprehend books. When I read a book that interests me, it is a lot easier to comprehend and follow along in the story. A lot of the true stories I have read make me think a lot about how I have to work to achieve my goals or how good of a life I actually have. For instance, in the book Night it makes me appreciate everything because I couldnt ever imagine going through half of what he had to go through. The readings I do outside of school are more pleasure books of things I am interested in and the books I have read in school are books about material that can improve on life and daily activities. When I was younger, the books that were read to me and the books I read played a huge role in the way I read now a days and the books I like these days. When I was younger and read my first chapter book it showed me how much time it took to read a full length book. Throughout my whole life many people have influenced my readings and have taught me many great aspects too reading. In my personal life I can relate to Rodriguez in a different way though. I always have been the kid that has excelled at sports and if I didnt get an athletic scholarship my parents were not going to pay for my college. I have always had that in the back of my head so I had to work extra hard to live up to their expectations. The big difference was that my parents always supported me through everything with my commitment and understood that. There was a lot of times though that they would make me do my studies instead of going and practicing were Rodriguez parents would want him to do other activities instead of school. I did get made fun of though at school in the same way were my friends would make comments on how much I practiced and I didnt hang out with them. So I understand the effort it take that you need to achieve the goals you are working toward. I believe that education does shape who people are though Most everyone wants to achieve at education and the easiest way to achieve at something is to put the most effort into it. When you are in school though especially at the younger ages you look up to your teachers a lot and try to imitate them until you find other role models. You see your teachers as almost another set of parents and obey what they say and achieve as much as you can to make them proud as well as your parents. Rodriguez just never grew out of that stage and always kept his teachers as his mentors and role models. All he wanted to do was make them proud he didnt care much about how his parents felt because he thought it was a lost clause. I believe Rodriguez experience as a scholarship boy is a universal experience. Not everyone has the same experiences, but I believe everyone relates to him in some way. Article Critique-Business Management Dynamics for Productivity

Question: Discuss about thArticle Critique-Business Management Dynamics for Productivity. Answer: Introduction The article seeks to identify the effects of the motivation techniques that the managers employ to ensure that the productivity of the organization is achieved and their application. In the abstract of the article, the author talks about efficiency being the main fact in the life of the people in any enterprise(Bruursema, Kari Kessler, Stacy R Spector, Paul E, 2011). The author says that the talents and potentials of people are required for the success of any organization. The author of this article discloses that the motivation techniques that are employed by the managers in an organization are determinants of their workers' talents, skills, and potentials. By using the motivation techniques, the success of the enterprise or organization will be witnessed. The research problem being addressed in this article seeks to explore the perceptions that managers have towards the manufacturing facilities required by the present workforce. The article is based on a research conducted by the researcher on a sample population of 229 individuals. Among the 229 personnel, 183 worked in three fabric and weaving facilities and the other 46 were the factory managers. The data has been collected using questionnaires and the application of employees scaling techniques within the company. Statistical package for social sciences was used to analyze the study for the effects of motivational techniques applied by managers to increase the productivity of employees. The significance level was tested and resolved that there was no normal variance for any variable. The author starts by saying that the world is changing at a rate such that it affects the organizations both positively and negatively. According to the authors, efficiency is one of the leading factors that affect the success of the enterprise in positive and negative ways. This brings about argument because the efficiency of the employees mostly affects the success of any organization positively. Efficiency brings about the success of the organization where it makes the use of opportunities from the changing environment(Nguyen, Mark, 2011). Efficiency is described as being the ability to ensure productivity of the enterprise. The enterprise should ensure high efficiency because of rising competition. According to the authors of this article, efficiency has no definition that is achieved by consensus, but this is wrong. This is because efficiency has been defined differently by different authors. Efficiency has been defined as elimination of existing problems, perceptions and providing the best living conditions for employees(Writer, Staff, 2016). Its the minimization of costs to enhance productivity by preserving the working environment and natural areas for workers. Effectiveness is achieved by preparation of raw materials for the production, chemicals to be used in the production process, shift patterns of employees and salaries paid as well as the cost of raw materials used in production process. Efficiency is the relationship between the acquired product and raw materials required to produce the product. Its the suitable utilization of resources, capital, raw materials and the know-how(Nguyen, Mark, 2011). It's a process where a successful and profitable production is achieved due to the investment started to make production. The importance is given in the year which the investment increased, and life's rising started. According to the authors of this article, efficiency is important to the employees, managers, enterprise and also the community. Efficiency in an organization is affected by different elements not only the employees as emphasized by the article. Equipment's, energy, business practices and also technology affects the efficiency of an enterprise. The enlargement of the business is due to the growth and development of the technical capacity and employees growth(Radoff, Jon, 2011). This means that the tasks and responsibilities of employees are promoted because they fulfill different tasks of the enterprise activities. Job enrichment means that the employees are motivated after they have undertaken their tasks by the management. This should not be the case because the employees should be motivated even when they have not accomplished some tasks. This gives them more encouragement to carry out their tasks most effectively and efficiently. The hours in which the business is supposed to work efficiently should be calculated according to the article; this brings about a contradiction in that the method used to calculate the hours may sometimes be biased. According to this article, many reasons emerge to bring about low efficiency in an enterprise. Unhealthy and unsafe working environment affects the employees whereby the rooms are not well ventilated, cleaned and warm hence leading to decrease in their efficiency. The relationships between the workers and the managers also matter(Schultz Schultz, Duane, 2010). If the relationship is unfavorable, then the employees will not be able to achieve the goals and targets of the organization or business. How the employees behave towards each other affects efficiency, if they do not relate well then there will be no peace because the working environment will not be suitable due to arguments among themselves. Employees need to be regularly motivated, if not they will lose the morale of working and hence low productivity to the business. Low payments to the employees reduce their efficiency because they expect to be paid amount of money according to the tasks done. When given high payments, the y are usually happy and feel encouraged to continue working for that organization. When the employees are allocated the jobs they are capable of doing, they feel satisfied and hence work diligently to ensure the success of the business. Workers feel so good while doing the tasks that they like most and hence if given jobs they cannot tackle will reduce efficiency(Schultz Schultz, Duane, 2010). According to this article, there are several ways in which the managers can ensure motivation to their workers. They should allow the workers to bring out their suggestions and share information with them and listen carefully what they have to say. The managers should relate to the employees in a friendly manner and always praise their hard work(Radoff, Jon, 2011). The managers should always respect their employees' ideas and be fair to all of them. They should be patient enough with the employees and also be careful while making promises to them. Even though this article has handled the ways to ensure motivation of workers, it has missed out some important points. Letting the employees lead is a most important way to motivate them, but this has not been included in this article. Allowing the employees regular breaks to refresh themselves also motivates them and helpful to their health. This is not mentioned in the article. Providing security at the workplace also motivates the employees to work without fear(Writer, Staff, 2016). Efficiency is the ability to increase productivity in an enterprise, but it can be defined differently and measured in the socio-economic systems(Writer, Staff, 2016). It's ensuring that the resources used in the production process are used in the best way possible. According to this article, motivation is the power that drives the people, and this is absolutely a true statement. According to the results of the study in this article, the people with higher education status are likely to be more motivated. This is not the case because, in any organization, all the employees are treated fairly by the management without any special favor to any employee. According to this article, there is gender discrimination whereby the females are more valued than male workers. This brings about a contradiction hence the statement is not true because in any workplace there should be no gender discrimination to ensure efficiency(Writer, Staff, 2016). This article talks about marital status in the results carried out; there is no discrimination according to marital status in any enterprise. Conclusion Overall, this article is straightforward in the beginning even though the introduction part is shallow and the article has missed out some important points on ways to increase the motivation of the employees. To have more people to read this article, it requires a new and more elaborated introduction. Once the reader has good examples of ways of motivating the employees and also the effects of motivation in increasing productivity of the enterprise, a good part of this article has already passed. Overall, this is a good and well-written article which bring about a relevant information to the managers and workers. This article when considered as a whole is very relevant and also convincing because it educates the managers on which motivation techniques to apply to ensure that there is high productivity in their organization(Writer, Staff, 2016). Only a few points need to be added on motivation techniques for the article to be complete. References Bakan I., 2011. rgtsel Stratejilerin Temeli. rgtsel Bagllk. Gazi Kitapevi, Ankara. Thermodynamics free essay sample

The first established principle of thermodynamics (which eventually became the Second Law) was formulated by Sadi Carnot in 1824. By 1860, as found in the works of those such as Rudolf Clausius and William Thomson, there were two established principles of thermodynamics, the first principle and the second principle. As the years passed, these principles turned into laws. By 1873, for example, thermodynamicist Josiah Willard Gibbs, in his â€Å"Graphical Methods in the Thermodynamics of Fluids†, clearly stated that there were two absolute laws of thermodynamics, a first law and a second law. When two systems are put in contact with each other, there will be a net exchange of energy between them unless or until they are in thermal equilibrium, that is, they contain the same amount of thermal energy for a given volume (say, 1 cubic centimeter, or 1 cubic inch. While this is a fundamental concept of thermodynamics, the need to state it explicitly as a law was not perceived until the first third of the 20th century, long after the first three laws were already widely in use, hence the zero numbering. We will write a custom essay sample on Thermodynamics or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The Zeroth Law asserts that thermal equilibrium, viewed as a binary relation, is an equivalence relation. [edit] First law Main article: First law of thermodynamics In any process, the total energy of the universe remains the same. It can also be defined as: for a thermodynamic cycle the sum of net heat supplied to the system and the net work done by the system is equal to zero. More simply, the First Law states that energy cannot be created or destroyed; rather, the amount of energy lost in a steady state process cannot be greater than the amount of energy gained. A pithy summation would be You Cant Win. This is the statement of conservation of energy for a thermodynamic system. It refers to the two ways that a closed system transfers energy to and from its surroundings by the process of heating (or cooling) and the process of mechanical work. The rate of gain or loss in the stored energy of a system is determined by the rates of these two processes. In open systems, the flow of matter is another energy transfer mechanism, and extra terms must be included in the expression of the first law. The First Law clarifies the nature of energy. It is a stored quantity which is independent of any particular process path, i. e. , it is independent of the system history. If a system undergoes a thermodynamic cycle, whether it becomes warmer, cooler, larger, or smaller, then it will have the same amount of energy each time it returns to a particular state. Mathematically speaking, energy is a state function and infinitesimal changes in the energy are exact differentials. All laws of thermodynamics but the First are statistical and simply describe the tendencies of macroscopic systems. For microscopic systems with few particles, the variations in the parameters become larger than the parameters themselves, and the assumptions of thermodynamics become meaningless. The First Law, i. e. the law of conservation, has become the most secure of all basic laws of science. At present, it is unquestioned. [edit] Second law Main article: Second law of thermodynamics The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium. In a simple manner, the second law states that energy systems have a tendency to increase their entropy rather than decrease it. A pithy summation of the Second Law would be You Cant Even Break Even. A way of looking at the second law for non-scientists is to look at entropy as a measure of chaos. So, for example, a broken cup has less order and more chaos than an intact one. Likewise, solid crystals, the most organized form of matter, have very low entropy values; and gases, which are highly disorganized, have high entropy values. The entropy of a thermally isolated macroscopic system never decreases (see Maxwells demon). However, a microscopic system may exhibit fluctuations of entropy opposite to that dictated by the Second Law (see Fluctuation Theorem). In fact, the mathematical proof of the Fluctuation Theorem from time-reversible dynamics and the Axiom of Causality constitutes a proof of the Second Law. In a logical sense the Second Law thus ceases to be a Law of physics and instead becomes a theorem which is valid for large systems or long times. The first and second law can be combined to yield the Fundamental Thermodynamic Relation: dE = TdS pdV\, Here, E is energy, T is temperature, S is entropy, p is pressure, and V is volume edit] Third law Main article: Third law of thermodynamics As temperature approaches absolute zero, the entropy of a system approaches a constant minimum. In brief, this postulates that entropy is temperature dependent and leads to the formulation of the idea of absolute zero. This has been summed up as You Cant Even Stay Out Of The Game. [edit] Tentative fourth laws or principles In the late 19th century, thermodynamicist Ludwig Boltzmann argued that the fundamental object of contention in the life-struggle in the evolution of the organic world is available energy. Since then, over the years, various thermodynamic researchers have come forward to ascribe to or to postulate potential fourth laws of thermodynamics; in some cases, even fifth or sixth laws of thermodynamics are proposed. The majority of these tentative fourth law statements are attempts to apply thermodynamics to evolution. Most fourth law statements, however, are speculative and far from agreed upon.
